The Proof That God Exists

The Proof That God Exists by the highly talented author and scientist, Mauricio Riguette Mediano, Ph.D., takes a look at scientific evidence and explains in a way that laymen can easily understand that science can be used as evidence to prove the existence of god. Mediano organizes the book, subtitled "The solution of a puzzle spread through sciences and other disciplines of human knowledge," into short, succinct chapters summing up the proof offered by various scientific disciplines that explains how the creation of intelligent life on Earth can not be chalked up to simple coincidence. There must, Mediano argues, be a Creator, a God, behind science and behind the creation of humans on our planet.

Everything involved in establishing the extremely specific conditions under which intelligent life can evolve and be created in the first place makes it almost impossible that it could happen without there being a God involved. Mediano makes the case that the conditions intelligent life occurred on Earth are unique, and he uses science to establish that the likelihood these specific conditions could have occurred anywhere else is very slim.

For example, in the first chapter of The Proof That God Exists, titled "The Stability of Atoms," Mediano writes about how his physics high school teacher taught the class "that atoms are the core building blocks of ordinary matter." He then mentions that everything is made of atoms, and specific atoms that combine themselves into molecules like water are essential for intelligent life to come about. Other atoms that are radioactive, on the other hand, would make it difficult, if not impossible, for intelligent life to be created and flourish.

Of course, there are radioactive atoms and elements on Earth, but our atmosphere helps to block enough of the dangerous radiation from the sun and other sources to enable life to exist here. Mediano goes into how if the spin of atoms, their masses or charges, were different, life would not be possible; and, if the Earth's core was not magnetic and molten, and the planet did not have the type of gravity it has, that life would not be possible on our planet.

He writes in the second chapter of The Proof That God Exists, titled "The Instability and Fragility of Atoms," that "The flow of molten rock inside Earth also has the side effect of generating Earth's magnetic field, which protects the atmosphere, keeping it from leaking into space. " In other words, what Mediano is saying is that if atoms were made any differently than they are, and if circumstances were not exactly right so that our planet's core did not contain molten rock, Earth would not have an atmosphere, and there would not be life on our planet. It would be like probably every other planet, devoid of life.

In chapter after chapter of The Proof That God Exists, like chapter five, "The Synthesis and Stability of Organic Molecules," and chapter seven, "The Formation of a Star," Mediano builds the case that there is an order in science just as there had to have been an order for the creation of intelligent life in the form of humans. If our star was any different, and not a yellow one of approximately the same age and size of our sun, the possibility of Earth supporting intelligent life would be either impossible or highly unlikely.

In The Proof That God Exists, Mediano makes a persuasive argument that science can be used to bolster the case that God exists and is responsible for intelligent life, in the form of humans, to have come about on our planet. He lays out his case with almost lawyer-like precision, using logic and the principles of physics as well as other scientific disciplines, to defend his basic premise. He excludes the likelihood, or at least, drastically limits the possibility, of intelligent life having been formed or evolved anywhere else in our universe. For anyone interested in science, and how it can be used to help establish that God exists and was behind the creation of intelligent life in the form of humans on our planet, The Proof That God Exists is a fascinating Must Read book that would make a great addition to your reading list and home library.

Memory Foam Mattress – Your Little Piece of NASA Technology

Memory foam mattresses have increased in popularity over recent years in the UK, as many people of all ages, shapes and sizes have started to enjoy the benefits they offer.

Memory foam was developed as part of the NASA space program, back when it was known only as visco-elastic polyurethane foam. NASA had grand plans for the foam, its main purpose being to ensure that the astronauts were kept as comfortable as possible whilst enduring the high levels of g-force that impact their bodies during take-off and re-entry.

This space age foam was then used in hospitals to help patients sleep who had bed sores, as well as by vets treating race horses with damaged limbs. The memory foam keeping the animal in a still, supported position allowing for better blood circulation and faster healing.

You may not be planning a trip into space anytime soon or have a thoroughbred racehorse with a sore leg, but that does not mean you can not benefit from the use of memory foam and all that hard work put in by the space gurus in houston. The other benefit on offer here is much more important and valuable … a good night's sleep!

Sleep is often sacrificed for grabbing those extra few hours to finish a college assignment, complete that end of year report for your boss, or to stay and have one more drink after a good meal.

Many people however, have sleepless nights due to bad backs, pains in their neck or legs and in some cases they just can not get comfortable, tossing and turning, pulling the duvet one way then the other, putting their arms on their head, then under the pillow amongst many other weird and wonderful positions. If this describes your 'sleeping' pattern, then a good quality memory foam mattress could be the answer to your (and your partners) prayers.

5 reasons why Memory foam mattresses are great:

1. They stop tossing and turning – they relieve the pressure on pressure points in your body, as you settle on the foam you will feel as if you are floating as it adapts to your exact body shape.

2. While you are asleep and dreaming of that impending lottery win, your memory foam mattress will be actively changing to the shape of your body as you move naturally during sleep. This is what keeps you in the land of nod and ensures you get an uninterrupted night's sleep.

3. They help reduce pain – memory foam mattresses provide excellent support for your neck and spine. Keeping these aligned properly means you will be able to lie comfortably making it easier to fall off to sleep.

4. They last longer than normal mattresses as dust mites and parasites hate them and do not like the taste.

5. They were invented by NASA – how many of your friends sleep on space age technology? (You'll be able to spot the ones who do not; they usually have bags under their eyes and an energy drink in their left hand).

If you have trouble sleeping due to aching joints, arthritis or postural problems a memory foam mattress should help towards achieving a good night's sleep. Unfortunately it is not known (yet!) For reducing snoring, but who knows, maybe NASA are working on it?

Online Movie Tickets

It's impossible to deny the popularity of movies in America and worldwide. The Internet is transforming the very methods in which we watch movies, so why not how we buy movie tickets? It's a breeze to find movie tickets online, but it can be confusing to know where to go.

Another movie-saturated website, Moviefone, really amps up their multimedia by providing visitors with interactive celebrity news and gossip clips, cast interviews and customized theater listings for your zip code. You can even get advanced screenings and exclusive video clips through Moviefone, another benefit of Net movie listings.

In an industry where millions are grossed in sales each day, it's vital for the Web to stay on top of current trends and provide features for all the film buffs out there. Fandango's audience and customer base grew about 16% last year, totaling out around 4 million visitors. More people are recognizing the convenience of online movie tickets and are looking past a minimal $ 1 surcharge to avoid long lines and disappointing sell-outs.

London Vacation: Imax Theaters

Do not just go to the movies while on vacation in London – take in the larger-than-life IMAX experience. Perfect for the entire family, there are a wide variety of films constantly playing at two separate locations in the capital city, both of which offer enormous screens and state-of-the-art sound systems.

The seven-year-old British Film Institute's London IMAX Cinema is located on the South Bank. It's the largest screen in the UK, the height of five double-decker buses, and there are nearly 500 seats with completely unobstructed views. In addition to science and nature films, there are also 3-D movies complete with special glasses and even feature films on specially-made IMAX prints (this summer, for instance, you can see "Poseidon" or "Superman Returns." Ticket prices range from £ 8.50 to £ 12.00 for general admission (discounts apply for children) and bookings can be made in advance online. Waterloo Station is nearby, with signs clearly marking the appropriate underground walkways that will get you to the theater.

The Science Museum in South Kensington, just south of Hyde Park, also houses an IMAX theater specializing in nature and space exploration films, many of which are in 3D. Admission prices here are only £ 7.50 with discounts for children and seniors, although the Museum's "IMAX Club" will get you an unlimited number of admissions over the course of the calendar year. If you're staying nearby while on vacation or are traveling with children, this might actually be a better deal. Details are available at the museum or online, but keep in mind that this venue is particularly busy with large children's groups – you may want to book as far in advance as possible, especially during the regular school year. While there are no feature films playing here, there are several exciting motion simulator rides that will keep the kids entertained – along with all of the permanent exhibits housed in the museum. The IMAX and simulator rides charge an admission fee, the Science Museum costs nothing to explore.

Movies Now Playing

Choosing from all the current release films can be a daunting task, which is why I've assembled this short list of movies now playing in theaters. Most are major release motion pictures, but one or two might require you to visit your local art house cinema. But no matter where you see them, I'm confident that you'll enjoy this blend of drama, comedy, action, and horror as much as I have.

Red – Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is a retired black-ops agent for the CIA. Now retired, he's having more than a little trouble adjusting to a quiet life in the suburbs. So when a team of assassins comes to kill him, he wastes no time in hitting the road to enlist the aid of his old associates (Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, and John Malkovich). Meanwhile, a much younger agent (Karl Urban) has been given the task of tracking down Frank and "retiring" him for good. Filled with explosions, shootouts, and a likable cast, Red is an entertaining diversion for the popcorn crowd.

Let Me In – Based on the Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In, this Matt Reeves movie stars Kodi Smit-McPhee as a bullied 12-year-old suffering through the divorce of his parents. But things start looking up when Abby (Chloe Moretz) moves in next door, as she appears to be a girl his own age. He's wrong, however, as Abby is actually an ancient vampire who masks its appearance behind the gentle visage of a young girl. Bloody consequences await anyone who would get in the way of their friendship and budding romance.

Machete – After being left for dead by a vicious drug lord (Steven Seagal), a former federale (Danny Trejo) heads to Texas and becomes a day laborer. There, he gets involved in a plot to assassinate a racist politician (Robert De Niro), and soon Machete is framed, wounded, and on the run. Jessica Alba plays a sympathetic immigration agent, and our hero also receives assistance from a mysterious taco vendor (Michelle Rodriguez) and a gun-wielding priest (Cheech Marin). Machete takes a lighthearted look at the nation 's immigration problem while throwing in plenty of bullet-riddled bodies and over-the-top performances.

Conviction – Hilary Swank stars in the true story of Betty Anne Waters, a devoted sister who earns a law degree in order to free her wrongfully imprisoned brother (Sam Rockwell). This inspirational drama co-stars Minnie Driver, Melissa Leo, and Juliette Lewis.

Jackass 3D – Johnny Knoxville and his pals return for the third feature film based on the gross-out MTV series. This time around, Steve-O, Bam Margera, Jason Acuna and others will risk life and limb in hilariously dangerous stunts including pinning a tail on a real donkey, pulling a tooth out with a sports car, and playing tether ball with an active beehive . But the topper has to be Steve-O being launched into the air inside a full port-a-potty. Do not see this one of a full stomach, especially since it's in 3D.

: I hope you ' ve the I enjoyed this list of movies now playing in theaters around the globe. The next time you feel like venturing out to your local multiplex, you'll have a number of possibilities right at your fingertips. And even if you do not get to see them all, there's still the DVD and Blu-ray releases to look forward to.

Signs and Symptoms of Herpes – Know the Symptoms of Herpes Before It’s Too Late

When looking for signs and symptoms of herpes they are generally wide spread from full blown outbreaks to no symptoms at all. There are two types of the herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 which is usually referred to as cold sores around the mouth and eyes (ocular herpes) and HSV-2 which affects the genitals. It is possible for genital herpes to be of type 1 or type 2.

This article will go into depth regarding HSV-2. Educating yourself about genital herpes symptoms is extremely important because knowing the signs and symptoms of herpes will help you to protect both you and your partner.

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease and now infects 25% of the U.S. population. There are approximately 90% of those who have the virus that are unaware they are infected because they either don’t have any symptoms at all or they are so minimal that they don’t associate the symptoms with the virus.

The statistics show that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 5 men have contracted herpes. The fact that you are reading this shows that you are being responsible for your own health and I commend you for taking this step towards preventing the spread of the virus or learning what you can do to control herpes.

The first experience of an outbreak is called the ‘primary’ genital herpes infection. It is usually the most severe as your body has no defense against the virus. As time goes on the bodys’ immune system produces antibodies to the virus therefore the ‘recurrent’ outbreaks lesson with time. The first outbreak usually occurs in or around the genital area between 3 days and 2 weeks after exposure to the virus.

The early signs and symptoms of herpes include a burning, tingling or itching sensation in the genital area which is best described as feeling raw or a pain similar to a rug burn or a sunburn type sensation. This symptom can sometimes be mistaken for a yeast infection in women. Pain or burning around the buttocks along with flu-like symptoms which include a fever and headache, and depression or irritability are also symptoms of genital herpes.

Automated Forex Trading – A System That Uses NASA Technology to Beat the Markets!

A while ago I bought a Forex trading system developed by a man who had worked for NASA. He was a genius at programming and developed a Forex Expert Advisor. Let’s look at my experience with it in more detail…

Today, more people than ever look for success via automated Forex trading systems and my experience will give you an idea of how most perform.

The system itself was based on artificial intelligence and adapted itself to changing market conditions, by switching between complex algorithms as market conditions changed. The system on the computer screen looked like mission control Houston, with lots going on all over the screen. I tried the system starting with $25,000 and within two weeks had $7,000 left and quickly stopped trading it.

In hindsight its obvious why this system lost and so do most Forex Expert Advisors and the reason is:

– You cannot beat markets with mathematics because they don’t move to a mathematical formula

– You cannot predict the markets in advance

– Complex Systems break easily, as markets move to the odds not certainties

If you want to win with a Forex trading system, you need to keep it simple and robust and also, make sure you trade the reality of price change and don’t try and predict anything.

To give you an example of how this can leads to success, I will give you a one rule system which beats most of the complicated automated Forex trading systems easily and you don’t even need a computer to run it.

Here is the rule:

Buy a new 4 week high and hold it. Wait for a new 4 week low to be hit take out the long and go short. All you then keep doing is reversing on each 4 week high or low.

Simple enough and it works – try it!

That rule was originally used by trading legend Richard Donchian over 25 years ago and it still works today. Sure its simple but that doesn’t mean it won’t make you money it will and won’t cost you a cent to try it out.

Today traders come up with systems that get more and more complicated but with all the technology advances we have seen in the last 25 years, the ratio of winners to losers remains the same and this shows that being clever or complicated is not the way to make money!

In simple terms – you cannot beat the market with mathematical equations, because markets don’t move to mathematics.

The simple one rule system I gave you earlier works and will continue to work.

While I used the Forex Expert Advisor for 2 weeks, I have used the one rule system (called Richard Donchian’s 4 Week Rule) for close on 20 years.

The message of this article is clear – simple, automated Forex trading systems work best and always will, so keep it simple and enjoy currency trading success.
